Health & Wellness Somerset campaigns


A campaign is starting to provide Naloxone to prevent opiate overdoses - launching on 31 August with a new app 'Carry Naloxone' which is a mapping app with a click and deliver facility. Free kitswill be available. This facility is seen as essential as having an epipen or defibrillator. Walk for a Life – 9 September from Castle House, Taunton from 10:30am. This is a suicide prevention campaign to provide Hope through Action. Members of the community have shared inspiring quotes or lyrics through the Book of Hope Know your numbers hypertension campaign week starting 4 September to help people gain access to blood pressure readings – to recognise if they have high blood pressure and provide simple lifestyle changes to help prevent heart attack and stroke. Monitors can be borrowed for a week from public libraries and will be available from various other venues.
