(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicles) Order 2022
(Mid Somerset Agricultural Show)
Notice is hereby given that Somerset County Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, intends to make an Order, the effect of which will be to introduce the following temporary prohibition of vehicles as detailed in the Schedule below.
The Order shall come into operation on the 11th day of August 2022 and will remain in force for eighteen months.
The Order will be made to facilitate the Mid Somerset Agricultural Show and is in the interest of public safety. All closures will be signed and staffed and will remain in force only for as long as is necessary.
Exemptions are provided in the Order for any vehicle being used for the purpose of maintenance of the road and operations; maintenance of street furniture and infrastructure; supply of gas, water or electricity; agriculture on any land adjacent, emergency vehicles and any vehicles associated with the event and for Residents/permit holders requiring access and egress.

Statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order
a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road
b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works
